Mechanical Engineering Industry Association, also known as VDMA, is the leading industrial association from Germany. With more than 3250 member companies, VDMA has considerable influence on the plastics industry in Europe. At K 2019, we had a chance to interview Ina Vettkötter, who is responsible for the communication project.

As we all know, the main focus of K 2019 is 'Circular Economy & Technology Innovation'. In this aspect, VDMA has cooperated with the experts in the field, enhancing the interaction between exhibitors and visitors.

Successful Loop in Circular Economy
According to Ms. Vettkötter, the concept of the 'Successful Loop' in the circular economy shows that well-designed plastic products can make recycling procedure easier. If suppliers and manufacturers can work together to respect the recycling needs in the first place, it will increase the sustainability of plastic products in the future.

During K-2019 we had the opportunity to interview and discussed important topics with Florian Mikulasch from Germany, who is Marketing Analyst of VDMA.

VDMA, as Mechanical Engineers Association has very clear not only the current situation of the industry, but also what is coming in the near future. As he mentions, they already have future projections for African market, one of the reasons due the fast growth of the population in the continent.
